2023 ASHA Convention
The 2023 ASHA Convention is slated for November 16-18, 2023, and is one of the largest professional development events for audiologists; speech-language pathologists; and speech, language, and hearing scientists. Bringing together approximately 15,000 attendees, the annual gathering offers more than 2,500 sessions eligible for ASHA continuing education credit covering the latest research, clinical skills, and techniques in communication sciences and disorders. This year’s convention theme is “Igniting Innovation” and will be held in Boston, MA.
Therapy Solutions Collective (TSCO) will present a poster at ASHA
Jenny Peddicord, Director of Strategic Partnerships with TSCO, will present “The National Landscape: Comparative Salaries, Benefits, and Work Environments for SLPs.” Legislation on pay transparency and an increase in conversations on social media about salaries and benefits allow SLPs to be more informed and make better decisions about our own employment. At the same time, these conversations sometimes lack context on how reimbursement rates, geography, and settings impact pay.
Additionally, the poster and presentation will clarify the difference between W-2 employment and 1099s, as well as the settings differentiated between billable and non-billable time. Peddicord will also elaborate on how to evaluate a compensation package and understanding your rights around pay transparency.
The aim of this poster session is to provide an overview of salaries and benefits across the country, give context for how pay rates are determined, outline pay transparency legislation, and spark conversations around our shared interests.
